Pence’s Peach Kuchen

Ingredients
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp sugar, plus 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 6 Pence peaches, cut in half
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 cup sour cream
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Cut in margarine with flour, baking powder, salt and 2 tbsp sugar. Pat the dough mixture into the bottom of an 8-inch square pan.
  3. Arrange 12 fresh peach halves over the dough.
  4. Mix 3/4 cup of sugar with cinnamon and sprinkle over peaches.
  5. Bake 15 minutes at 400 degrees.
  6. Mix 2 egg yokes with 1 cup sour cream and pour mixture over the Kuchen. Reduce heat to 375 degrees and bake for 30 minutes longer.
